..let me see if I've got this right. For at least the past week or so, the corpses have been allowing everyone to think that the site would vanish when Rob removed the files from Not BBC on Friday. Meanwhile they allowed their supporters to paint Rob as an evil cunt for not wanting to do the site anymore. Rob only got a brief respite from that when it was pointed out that he could of shut the site down straight away, and that it didn't explain why the corpses ignored that message from someone who said they were proud of him.

Now surely that sort behaviour only encourages the kind of unquestioning sycophancy that the corpses apparently despise in others. Look up at the number of tribute threads started in the last few days alone, yet they obviously knew the site was going to be hosted elsewhere. Presumably the corpses want to remain friends with Rob, or at least make it appear that way. If their behaviour on here is an extension of their behaviour off the net then its no wonder Rob wants shot of them.

Now if the corpses have a reasonable explanation for all this, I'd love to hear it. Failing that, a public apology would suffice.

The Corpses have got somebody to copy it and put it up as a temporary mirror somewhere else while they work out what to do.
Nobody ever said Rob was going to destroy the actual content of the web pages known as SOTCAA so that they could never be seen by the naked eye again. What are you talking about?
ANd as for all this stuff about the Corpses "allowing" their supporters to do this, that and the other, well, come on. People write what they want on the forum. The Corpses didn't start (or indeed contribute) to any of the tribute/slagging off Rob sites. A public apology? For what? Being taken off Not BBC? For their fans not being entirely happy about this? What the fuck are you talking about?

I think you've missed the point a bit. Firstly, the Comedy Forum thread seemed pretty nasty to me. If the Corpses were that upset, then why didn't they sort it out with Rob privately?

Also, the Corpses were very coy about the new site being on comedynet before the NOTBBC version was shut down. They also made no attempt to reassure their supporters (or indeed, everyone that comes on the forum) that SOTCAA would continue to exist after the NOTBBC version was shut down. For the site to appear so quickly on comedynet, some work must have been going on behind the scenes at least some days before. There was nothing to stop the Corpses making an announcement anticipating the site's relaunch.

The Corpses profess to want to still be friends with Rob, but they have certainly made no attempt to defend his decision. After all, Rob built the site and maintained it; and anyone who runs a site of this size knows it's not necessarily easy. If Rob decides that he can no longer give the project the attention it deserves, then that is his decision. He's been hosting SOTCAA for a long time, so it seems reasonable to assume that the decision wasn't easy. He's also been keeping his replies to people dignified, even though people have been very unpleasant about him without knowing all the facts.

At least Matty thinks he's done the right thing, although what she means by that I can't imagine.....

I didn't know there were any tribute/slagging off Rob 'sites', but Joe4SOTCAA did attack Rob S on one of the forum threads (The 'The Comedy Forum' one, where Rob s announced the change). I think this was the main catalyst for the various other attacks on Rob S on this forum.

Where did you get his (IMHO wrong) information about Rob's motivations from? If anyone connected with the Corpses has been putting this about, I'd suggest that they were the ones motivated by personal, petty and immature things. Obviously it can't have been them, though. They're so sweet and not at all vindictive.

What do you mean by 'together'? Are you suggesting that Rob and Ribbit are an item? Not so. However, on the recent occasions I have spent with both Rob and Ribbit, they do seem to have been perfectly happy in each other's company (it's what friends do, but then people who post unpleasant, innuendo-laden shite like you have probably have only a tenuous grasp on basic concepts like friendship).

I would think Rob removed the site because:
a) it was embarrassing;
b) it was inaccurate;
c) it hadn't been updated for over a year;
d) the other Corpses ignored suggestions and corrections from members of the public.

The fact that he kept the forum running was the only element that surprised me, as it, as with the site, seems to be patronised almost exclusively by fuckless morons who wouldn't recognise a good gag if it flew into their faces and combusted.

As for the World Trade Centre, I have one question - anybody here personally involved? I suspect those that are wouldn't be wasting their time posting to an internet comedy forum at a time like this. The rest of you, grow up.
