Kids shows that aren't Posted Wed Sep 5 17:11:48 BST 2001 by Unruly Butler

In response to the accusation that several of the Top 100 Kids' Shows were in fact adult programmes that kids also enjoyed (Simpsons, Muppets etc), here's a nice link to an entirely adult sponsor of the Flintstones.

Stick that in the pipe of anyone who thinks it wasn't an adult animated sitcom.

Remember "How To Speak Gibberish", starring The Albertos? A failed intended-for-adults show masquerading as a kids show, if ever there was one......

Ahh, that'll be where I saw the advert then (I think)...

I still don't think the show was sponsored by the brand though - it only used the characters in normal commericals. I can't view the video on my home modem, so apologise if the clip proves me wrong.

More info on how the show became children's television:

I'd like to pre-empt any "maid marian was as good as any adult shows like blackadder" type comments by saying NO, it WASN't. and kate lonergan was sooooooo annoying

No, that was definitely a 100% kids' entertainment that was clever enough for adults to enjoy (cf Toy Story). Rather than an adult-pitched comedy show with enough running around and hitting to appeal to the wee ones (cf Simpsons, Muppets etc)

Doctor Who is a children's programme, however.
