Any information on what extras might be involved?

Well, they couldn't possibly release stuff in order could they? That would be sensible.
Actually, it's the release of IAP ahead of The Day Today (perfect for DVD, with all the MiniNews on it and everything) that's really sickening.
Once again, we have further confirmation that 1995 has been re-labelled Year Zero.
Er... I thought that was 1996?
I'm Alan Partridge will include the ten minutes of out-takes included on the videos.
Fawlty Towers is coming out too with cast commentary, new interviews, outtakes, and a Torquay promo film.
Blackadder Goes Forth, The League Of Gentlemen series 2, and a new Only Fools And Horses disc are coming out at the same time, around mid-october. The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy disc was supposed to come out then too but has been delayed because the makers want to turn it into a tribute to Douglas Adams.
I read this all in a DVD magazine so don't blame me if none of this happens.
Hancock is coming out too - but just the same rubbish 'best of' selection (ie, Series 7 bar 'The Succession').

Any ideas what's going to be on TDT DVD apart from Mininews? Deleted scenes? Commentary? Out-takes? Interviews? Pilot?? <-- just kidding
I suspect they'll be no TDT extras because no-one involved in it cares anymore. And it'll be put together by Evian-sipping jobsworths who knows NOTHING.
I'm Alan Partridge meanwhile...I imagine the disc will come free with a fucking 'Monkey Tennis' fridge magnet.

Is there any truth in the story that one of the I'm Alan Partridge videos came with a free _t-shirt_ of his blazer and tie?
Yes, that's true. If you bought the box set (with all the KMKYs and IAPs) you got a free t-shirt. I know this because I've got one. Maybe I'll put a picture on me wearing it online.
>Maybe I'll put a picture on me wearing it online.
So that'll be a jpg of a picture of you wearing a t-shirt of said blazer and tie, which in turn is on your t-shirt?
If only all grammatical errors were Pink Floyd album covers.
I didn't understand a word of that Bent, so before this thread becomes an Abbott and Costello routine I'd like to say that blurry jpgs of the unironed shirt (without me in it) are online at http://squidy2.20m.com/alan.html .
The first 'tie and shirt' t-shirt was designed by Mad Magazine's Al Jaffee as a birthday present for Bill Gaines, who hated wearing ties but enjoyed eating at restaurants that required them.

So what? IAP is better.

That's a matter of opinion. I don't happen to agree. I liked IAP, but I liked KMKY more.

He's fishing, TJ!
I bet it's not completely intact. I bet there are musical bits (when he's on the radio) missing for rights reasons.
Also, re this website's opinion of IAP, which seems to criticize it mainly on the basis that it doesn't work as a fly-on-the-wall documentary, who says it's supposed to? As far as I can tell, there's nothing whatsoever to suggest that it is. It's a sitcom!
Would Alan really want cameras in his hotel room while he's having sex?
I thought the main problem the Corpses found was that Alan is funniest when he has some power- when he had a chat show and was supposed to be the man holding it together, it was funny because he was doing a job he was obviously unsuited to doing. However, relegate him to being a sad old man in a Travel Hotel, getting disdainful looks when he suggests shows like 'Monkey Tennis' completly loses that side to the humour.
Anyway, I thought IAP was ok but not as good as KMKY. So maybe they have a point.
>Anyway, I thought IAP was ok but not as good as KMKY. So maybe they have a point.
Um, that meant to say 'So maybe I agree with them, sort of' . What I typed previously doesn't make sense.
I've just watched IAP end to end, and found a great deal in it worth enjoying. Thought I'd give it another chance. Glad I did.
Episode four (Watership Alan - the boat promo video episode with Baynham, Pegg and Morris) was very peculiar, though, and didn't seem to fit the mood of the rest of the series. The supporting characters were broader, more pantomimetic, all intended to show up Alan's incompetence in a series of episodic set pieces.
As such, it reminded me of KMKY.
Did fans of KMKY prefer this episode to the rest of the series? With Alan back in control of a TV show of sorts, and an array of angry "guests" getting increasingly annoyed with his blundering insensitivity, it certainly echoed the structure of the chat show series.
Was that more like it?
