'the chimp and the women, living together in a house of stone, they made that house their home.'
oh yes.
This is the man who does a Tom Jones' song about logs and a moody song about how much he loves porn? If so. I think he's spiffing.
I love this chap, he's a guest on an episode of Radio Shuttleworth, where he does a song called 'Food of Choice. You pick a food and he tells you how "the food of your choice will end your life tonight" in an improvised and violent manner. Patrick Moore chooses chicken tikka masala, it's a joy to hear.
I'm 90% sure one of his stand-up personas is called Dame Sybil. I went to see this at a comedy night, expecting a sub-Savage drag act, and instead got some hilariously surreal rambling anecdotes. A very funny man.
Dame Sybille is the best thing he ever did solo.
Nothing he does now will ever compare to the god-like greatness of Corky and The Juice Pigs.
I saw his show this festival and it just didn't make me laugh - I thought that I had seen it all before.
Phil Nichol's show was far funnier and I swear the bloke had no material.
Oh come on!
"With your bark on the outside, will I ever get inside, to where the sap runs free... Log, where are you going, you're no longer growing!"
And don't confuse him with Boothby, Boothby doesn't need a band...
I have a bunch of bootlegs of Corky And The Juice Pigs from those halcyon days. Albums too, though they lacked the spontaneity of the live shows. Sean Cullen was quite superb and eclipsed Phil Nicol at the time, though Nicol definitely has the edge now. Caught his last show this Fringe and he really doesn't have any material to speak of!
I've seen one of the ex-Juice Pigs at the Fringe but it was a long time ago and I can't remember his name, but he sang 'The Only Gay Eskimo' and 'My Daddy's Wig Is Very Big' , and he entered dressed as a Scottish Rabbit. Anyone know who this was?
He featured in radio shuttleworth. But alas, i can't remember his name, either.
The Wig song is Phil Nichol and it's VERY FUNNY. He doesn't do either of the songs mentioned anymore but he does have a new funny one called Emotionally Challenged Girl.
'Though I probably shall not exclaim as I die
:Sean Cullen, Sean Cullen, Sean Cullen'
>'Though I probably shall not exclaim as I die
>:Sean Cullen, Sean Cullen, Sean Cullen'
But I shall. His stuff about being at new-parent get-togethers was hilarious. As other parents are sharing their common experiences he says his baby hovers in the air and screams latin at him. "Anybody else have that?"
Ah, the glorious Mr Cullen. Yes, I would wholeheartedly agree that Dame Sybil is one of the funniest comic creations I have seen. Her tales of Lawrence Olivier, Peter O'Toole, the Queen Mother ("a wicked knife fighter") are an endless delight.
I, too, treasure the live recordings I am lucky to posess.

What recordings are they? I've got the current cd.

The two Cds, plus various things they did at the Prince Patrick Hotel in Melbourne - one of the spiritual homes of the Corkies.
