>But it was something about a black and white internet, and looked hugely disappointing. Like an out-take from TDT. The advert for 'This Week Only' was better. Unless we imagined it all.

It's been in the pipeline for ages. Produced by Sarah Smith.
Well, I'm looking forward to it.
Sarah Smith has no sense of humour. It's a fascinating thing to behold.
Does anyone know the format for this? I haven't seen the trailer, but I saw some offline edit sketch material on video and, going on that evidence, I can't believe it's going to be a straight sketch show.
The material's far FAR too slow. Assuming it's not Ianucci's attempt to do Jam (bad idea), he must be intending to edit it down and put segments of it between some studio chat (a la Armistice) or something.
What I've seen is VERY bizarre.
So, does anyone know how what the MO's going to be?

That's very harsh, Sister Josephine! She does find Hoffnung cartoons amusing, however.

There was an ad for this with an old man being interviewed by Armando which was funny.
Old lady too, talking about sex(!)
here we go again.
"there's a new show starting...bet it's crap"
WIll this ever stop? Listen to yourself.
Every fucking time.

Hey, Personal Grudge Boy strikes back! Will the forum withstand his intense and inexplicable bitterness? Will they even notice?
Shouldn't really waste time guessing the identity of should an inept troll, but I'd lay odds on it being Dan L or one of his buddies.

Sounds sort of like the one I saw. Old man being interviewed. But the one I saw wasn't funny. As I say, it seemed like something that got cut from TDT. A line about "in my day, the internet was in black and white".
Yeah and what's wrong with TDT?
>There was an advert for this. On Channel Four. Mere minutes ago. We're all sure we saw it.
i saw one, an old man being interviewed and saying "we all watched that Peter Andre, and showed off our pecs. And our six packs"
or something. it was funny. i mean, i laughed when i saw it.
still not as funny as seeing Courtney Love behaving like a spoilt brat on Celebrity though.

It had something like "In my day, you didn't just jump into bed with a woman. You'd knock her up and try to get her on crack."
Hey, if it makes you laugh, it's funny.
Ben! Noooooo! (c) Mark Hammill 1977
Nice to see you committing SOTCAA suicide.
I bet they close the whole site down now just to piss you off.

That is quite funny. But, "in my day, the internet was in black and white", is humourless and easy. Cheap. Not funny.
>Hey, if it makes you laugh, it's funny.
I'd love to believe that, but somebody here told me that comedy isn't subjective, and I just don't see how they could possibly be wrong.
at the end of the day, no matter how passionate you are, even if you tried for a thousand years you would never convince my Dad that Jim Davidson is not funny.
I'd start trying and come to terms with the fact that your opinion is your own, and unless you get some kind of power means fuck all on a large scale. I did some time ago.
If people laugh at Barrymore good luck to them. It's beyond your control, and none of your business in a way.

Armando Ianucci confronts his fears for Channel 4
Armando Ianucci will confront his fears in a surreal new series for Channel 4.
The Armando Ianucci Shows is an eight-part series beginning on August 30.
The programme also features special effects from the makers of Walking With Dinosaurs.
Iannuci says: "Each episode is self-contained. I wander about my house and little stories happen which carry the programme forward."
The first episode concerns Armando's inability to kick a ball and an old man who recalls the days when the internet was in black and white.
Ianucci is the brains behind hit comedies The Day Today, I'm Alan Partridge and The Friday Night Armistice.
Steve's speaking fluent PR at the moment, isn't he?
I assume that's the press release, or he's gone mad.
Actually, it can't be Steve talking. He left too abruptly without saying goodbye.

Cut 'n' paste job from Ananova, of all places.

Cheerio
That's better.
