Manic depressive borderline suicide harbouring odd little ultra-right-wing thoughts on the quiet. Posted Fri Jul 27 04:16:43 BST 2001 by 'WARREN OATES'

Paedophilia is now a T-shirt woven on looms owned by the beautiful people of Horseferry Road. And That's Official. If Christopher Morris is the greatest debunker of establishment myths and propagander (see archaic term: satirist) since Peter Cook, he should take a pop at something which REALLY hurts: advertising, marketing, money. Doesn't immediately suggest comedy does it? I think it does. Cook did it with Bedazzled and (with mixed results) Rise & Rise of Michael Rimmer. The Paedophile thing is a very soft option indeed. It's just streaking across a football field. Diversionary bullshit and quite spineless. So why doesn't Morris 'do' advertising? Because he wants to be on television, dummy. 'I have seen the face of god'. 'You just might be right, Mr Beale'. If you're wondering about the above subject title - well that's just a rather fanciful notion I have about Mr CM's inner man. I've met the type before. They read obscure, proto-fascist 19th Century German philosophy at 4am and then espouse liberal ideals in the afternoon. It's now 4am and I'm going back to my dog-eared copy of Das Capital. Me and Chris, we're poles apart you see, while being uncannily similar. P.S. He will kill himself someday you know. I on the other hand intend to live forever.

then why did he force channel 4 to show jam without credits? advertising is pretty much satirising itself nowadays anyway. and you speak of soft targets
