The speed of change

I am not the most interesting, regular or prolific of posters here, so my concerns outlined below may turn out to be only an issue to me, but I thought I ought to mention it:
From time to time, I don't get to look at the web for a few consecutive days. Such an event happened this weekend. Today, I came back to SOTCAA, looking forward to three days' worth of ill-informed Brass Eye rantings and perhaps some answers to the questions I posted in a most interesting thread on Friday.
To my shock, the thread in question was gone. Even purged out of "Old Topics". I know three days went past. I know that there is considerable concern regaring disk space at the moment. I know that the SOTCAA forum was not designed to include a vast free archive especially for those few of us who can't be logged in every waking hour. I'm sorry for my lack of dedication.
Even so, is anyone else here finding it difficult to keep up? Or am I just a wittering old fool, destined to a future of not really knowing what's going on but making irrelevent observations every few days to an increasing number of responses of "Who was he again"?

don't worry, as soon as the brass eye special has been shown the forum will slow to a halt again.

it does seem to be moving awfully fast these days i agree. i suggest backing up onto a disk somehow (if this is allowed, but i don't know about these technical things. Ayone?

I don't think it's a problem of lack of resources or anything, it's just Rob monkeying around with the settings to get rid of all those frigging BRass Eye threads.
