Seems they always find some new tapes when it's time for a reissue or something...
So much for the cupboard being bare in '88 then...!!
Is ol' Roger still alive?
>Is ol' Roger still alive?
yes, - very much so.
>>Is ol' Roger still alive?
>yes, - very much so.
Though I heard he was in a bit of a bad state. Apparently he's blind from his diabetes?
That was reported in 'Saucerful Of Secrets' by Nick Schaffner. I always wondered whether it was a sneaky way of dissuading fans from attempting to track him down.
To most fans however he will be forever 'living in Cambridge with his mother' (even though Winifred Barrett died in about 1992).
I'm confused, are we talking about Rog or Syd?
Syd's real name - which he has now reverted to - is Roger...
*Hangs head in shame at not realising this*
BOB DYLAN BLUES
I've got the Bob Dylan Blues
I've got the Bob Dylan Blues
My hair and my hat's in a messa
But I don't give a damn about that!
(The lyrics as published in an Italian lyric book. The 'messa' could well be a typo.)
Now then...
A ROOFTOP IN A THUNDERSTORM ROW MISSING THE POINT
With yellow, red and roomy food and quivered
Crouching on a golden cushion
Undressed himself to disappear
Through an infinity of pleasure
And smiled to free the running me
With 'Am I my brother's keeper?'
His meek hand on devil's gloves
Shaping running blood.
The prophecy, to recreate the truth
In visions of a seasonal mood
In truth, the only sight he saw
Lay hidden by the bathroom door
And spat on the rug
As high, so low is low
And that's the end of it.
(Discuss...)
Weren't they some lyrics that he gave to a fanzine in the early 1970s?
Oh yes. Well that's that one done with.
Who actually bothered shelling out fifteen quid for the 8-minute silent 'Syd's First Trip' video? Or did we all just plump for a bootleg with 'Nick's Boogie' and 'Flaming' dubbed onto the soundtrack?
Also, does anyone know the origins of that other bit of vid-footage that does the rounds featuring some bloke having flashbacks to 'Arnold Layne' / 'See Emily Play' promos while messing about with watercolours and fondling an orange, a plum and a matchbox?

Could it possibly from that Japanese-made film about Syd that no-one appears to have actually seen?
