The Bonzo Dog Band/Innes/Stanshall Posted Sun Jan 7 16:31:08 GMT 2001 by TJ

Not discussed on here enough. As I have been listening to their stuff for well over a decade, and still find it amusing, I feel that greater appreciation is deserved.

So discuss.

Box set of Bonzos is currently £16.99 in HMV sale.

Everyone go out and buy it, then return here and we'll discuss everything.

I know a few of their tracks (e.g: Mr Slater's Parrot, Jollity Farm) but am a bit of an ingoramous about them. I love the Rutles, though. What Innes/Stanshall/Bonzo's stuff is currently available? And what would make a good first purchase for the neophyte?

Nice to have a question answered before I even post it!

Also Stanshall's Sir Henry at Rawlinson End, which is only £6.99 on CD.

The only Innes CD currently available (as far as I know) is a mail order-only remastered 'best of' affair. However, there is an Innes-endorsed site with most of his solo stuff in realaudio. Can't remember the address, but there's a link to it on my site...

Recycled Vinyl Blues, innit?

Fair do's, top band, the Bonzos.

Noted that 'We Are Normal' was attributed to The Mothers Of Invention in a classic car mag a couple of months ago... hmm.
