No, this is a *TV* Forum...
You're really not paying attention are you?

You leave this forum alone!!! It was the original (pre-dated both the forums you mention) and just because it's going through a quiet patch doesn't mean it won't be back!
Maybe the death of Best Local TV Programmes did it.
Ahhh, the return of 'This forum is shit' posters! Remember them from the old days, boys? At least this is a generally civilised place, unlike some forums....
>Maybe the death of Best Local TV Programmes did it.
Nah, it was when I stopped being a regular poster! ;)
I blame the parents.
I blame the children.
I blame the government.
Or the Hurricane of '87
Anyway, both forums Limpa mentions are regular victims of my postings and i can tell you that the tvforum site frequently dies completely and digitalspy is much nore On-Topic than this forum will ever be - and we don't want any of that sort of thing here, do we.
This forum's lost a lot of regulars since the demise of SOTCAA.
Now the SOTCAA Forum is just the Comedy Forum, and consequently less hyper, less everything-is-shit-these-days-and-I'm-going-to-thcweam-till-you-agree, measured debate on TV topics (mainly comedy, but not necessarily) can take place there, rather than over here.
For SOTCAA regulars, this used to be a place to come and be silly, when SOTCAA got a bit self righteous. Now it's not quite such a necessary refuge.
A lot of forumgoers hid here when SOTCAA was getting mudslingy. They're either gone for good now, or have returned to the blue room.
Revisionism doesn't work unless you leave it a while, Joel.
Revisionism? Hardly.
I'll back up all my previous sweeping assertions with the fact that I certainly used to do this skulking-on-the-TV-forum thing when SOTCAA got too hot, or too demanding, or too purist, and several other people I know did too.
And now I don't. And neither do they.
So it's, even in just a small way, provably true, from personal experience.
It's not "revisionism" or anything so conspiratorial or sinister. Just a habit certain people had, me included. OK, maybe not everyone did this. Maybe only a few people did, but I was simply offering it as an explanation for some of the quietening of business on the yellow forum.
Oh, and I really hate the way people use poster's real names when they're cross with them. It's patronisingly parental. "Sit DOWN, Christopher!"
Actually, I've just looked at my first posting again, and realised it was deliberately poke-the-ants-nest-with-a-stick antagonistic. I can only blame the booze and stand by the core idea behind it, if not the aggressive delivery, for which I apologise.
Never back down. The moment you back down, you become a motorist.
I'm only acknowledging the tone of voice might have needed tempering, not the point of view...
And perhaps someone else might want to give a different explanation as to why things have withered so far on this forum since the demise of SOTCAA.
They definitely appeared to happen at the same time. Any theories?

Not sure things have actually withered that much - it's just a matter of perspective. The backup archives for this forum, for example, have been increasing in size for a while (despite the lost of large threads like local tv programmes).
>since the demise of SOTCAA.
Sotcaa's not dead (it just smells funny).
It's still at http://www.corpses.comedynetuk.com/
"Don't hit me!"
Hmmmm, this seems as good a place as any to ask...
What happened to SOTCAA?
Nothing - it just moved to http://www.corpses.comedynetuk.com/
OK - why no more updates?
There will be updates - the people who write for the site are still working on them. It takes time, basically, especially edit news.
There is an email address if you want to put your questions to The Corpses, though.

Their appeal is "becoming more selective"?
I reckon it's the bandwidth.
In the bedroom with a candlestick.
Updates coming up shortly incidentally.
>Updates coming up shortly incidentally.
Um, did you get either of my two emails?

You're in no position to try and make jokes Joe, don't push it.
>Um, did you get either of my two emails?
Yes - sorry, we've been busy.
>Yes - sorry, we've been busy.
Don't worry - as long as I know you've got them. They aren't that interesting.
BTW, if your interested (and don't already know, which you probably do) you can't get Young Ones Series 1 in the white "BBC Complete" packaging - it uses the old design. But you can with series 2. Confusing.
>They definitely appeared to happen at the same time. Any theories?
Yes! This forum is far more focused right now than it ever was, and it's definitely cooled off, but in no way become unhelpful or dire. It's not the sort of place I should still be coming to simply because I, like some people who are included in my list of those who need a good punch in the head, am a bit flippant and irrelevant in the midst of scary cynical stuff.
Now I'm off to see Bill Bailey's show. Those of you on the list, wear glasses.
Apart from the SOTCAA thing I think that a lot of people got pissed of with the spate of fuckwit spammers that decided to have a go a Robs websites/forums. Things usually go from dogged determination not to let them effect forum life to complete apathy, where the users just give up and move on.
