I don't know most of the history.
But i do know that this isn't the "right way" to go about things, in certain contexts this actually looks like a method of provocation by making one party out to be the "bad guy" when the blame shouldn't actually be aimed at anyone.
Starting a topic like this may cause people to take sides and potentially elevate the level of bitching.
