the homosexuals Posted Sun Dec 31 00:19:29 GMT 2000 by 'hazeley'

nothing to do with tv - sorry folks - but i heard a band on radio 3 tonight called 'die trip computer die' who used to be called 'the homosexuals.'

the song was called 'nemesis' and included the lyric 'i'm the saucer / you're the cup / i'm the policeman / who beats himself up.'

i'm not making this up.

can anyone tell me any more?

Jason's been listening to 'Mixing It', I'm guessing. Fine show. Eclectic wouldn't even begin to describe it.

well spotted, halo. i listened to it by accident (there's not much to do on the A13 late at night, believe me) and, without wishing to be too sixties, it rather blew my mind.

Late 70s art-punkers? I saw a compilation album t'other day with a track of theirs - buggered if I can recall the label though. It sounds like a Mike Alway pseudonym from the early days of El, but I don't think it's that kind of thing at all...

'Mixing It', eh? Time was when I had stacks of cassettes and (later) MDs full of Messrs Sandall and Russell's selections - then they moved it to Saturdays and I stopped tuning in. I believe Verity Sharp's 'Late Junction' is another good broad-church R3 show, although the friend who recommended it may just have the hots for her.

I have more tapes of 'Late Junction' and 'Mixing It' than the mind can comfortably conceive.

I always knew you were a Wire reader, Mike...

Damn. Pigeonholed at last.

(Actually a Wire *subscriber*, which is 'crossing the line' as far as some of my friends are concerned. Funny how I never get to DJ at any functions anymore...)

Subscriber this end as well. Do ring them up if an issue gets damaged in the post or even if you spill tea on it. Lovely, lovely people.

To pigeonhole you more, were you the other person responsible for half of the 'Mogwai are a cock band' thread over the summer? I freely confess to the other half and can't imagine any other contributor knowing who Derek Bailey is.
