He may have been the Stephen Fry of his time, in some ways, but it is regrettably true that he ended his days penniless, alcohol-crazed and appearing in semi-pornographic Europuddings. But, at least Kind Hearts and Coronets is undoubtedly a better film than Peter's Friends.

You find fault with appearing in semi-pornographic Europuddings?
These weren't just any old Europuddings, these were the creme de la creme of Europuddings.

Walking straight into it I know, but with dear old Jesus Franco directing, there was plenty of creme around - but only in the versions shown on the Continent of course.

Anyone seen "Horror Hospital" - probably the worst film ever made, in which Price is hugely wasted as a sleazy agent, before being beheaded by a sword mounted on the side of a passing hansom cab.

Price had an intriguing cameo in "Theatre of Blood" though, as critic Hector Snipe. But his is not the best death in the film. I can't decide which of them is the best though, probably a tie between those of Arthur Lowe, beheaded in bed and the remains left rammed onto a milk bottle outside Ian Hendry's flat, and Robert Morley, who is force-fed poodle pie!
