BBC Meldrew Tribute... Posted Tue Nov 21 00:38:30 GMT 2000 by 'Unruly Butler'

Why did it take nearly half an hour before anyone talked about the writing? Or even implied that One Foot In The Grave was a fictional programme made by actors, producers, writers, set dressers etc?
You got the impression it was a tribute to a real old couple. Why does the BBC continually treat the audience like idiots when it comes to programmes like this? I wanted to know how the show was put together. I'm a fan. That's why I'm watching the tribute show...
I KNOW VICTOR MELDREW'S A BIT GRUMPY! TELL ME SOMETHING NEW!

Waste of bloody airtime...

At least they kept the comments to people who've appeared in the show, instead of wheeling out Phill Jupitus, Arthur Smith and Rory McGrath.

Bit disappointed with the actual ending to the series though - clearly designed to have people blabbering on endlessly as to what happened.

Didn't see it. I just hope Paul freakin' Ross wasn't on it. He's an expert, you know.

At least he's not Robert Ross.

If it had been Robert Ross, he'd have used the word "stunning" at least 748 times. And stated that the second episode in the first One Foot season is wiped but recovered from Australia in 1986.

It's the BBC's White Album.

Now where's my cheque?
