Isn't it odd that WWTBAM should finally give away the big one on the same night as the final episode of OFITG airs? Ratings war? HUH!
Besides being a relative of CPB the winner's husband is a scriptwriter, anyone else sniff the stench of a TV insider?
It's a FIX damn it!
Her old man is Neil Shand, apparently. Even the Teletext website describes her as 'wealthy.' If it isn't a stitch-up, what the hell's a rich person doing going on WWTBAM? Greedy bitch.
Dunno about a ratings war, I think ITV have dropped a bollock with this one.

Whether people think it's a ratings war tactic or just ITV making the rich, richer they're certainly not winning any friends over it.
Not only is ITV worried about One Foot in the Grave, but they are probably scared that WWTBAM has lost its crown to The Weakest Link.
Anyway why are they scared on trying to compete with something on another channel? Hasn't anybody heard of video recorders.
As far as the winner is concerned, it looks like money goes to money. (By the why, I got 4 numbers on the lottery this weekend and won £34. I won't let it change my life.)
Ugh. I never liked this programme, it's all probably rehearsed, mind you a friend of mine got turned down for it the other day, so maybe not.
Bet I'd win.
you should do the Irish Lottery - it costs the same, has better odds *and* you get more money for getting 3 numbers etc.
Camelot's Poor Tax is a shambles.
and the new Lottery X-tra game is just money grabbing.
greedy fat cat [expletive deleted for taste reasons] bosses
and wwtbam was the only ITV show I watched.
Am I going to watch it now?
I think not.
what complete monkey thought it would be a good idea to set that one up?
Does anyone think the Branson bid is better than the Camelot one? It sounds better, in as much it's "run without profit" (though of course directors etc get good wages). And I'm technically for it since it's opposition to the Tory loving Camelot group.
But Private Eye seems to have a great big bee in it's bonnet about Branson's wheeling and dealings.
Is it purely coincidental that they've just changed their phone number & put the price of the calls up?
Is it possible that Mrs Shand's daughter is an unemployed actress with the astonishing ability to cry on demand too?
My flat mate works for Barclays, and he recieved an order from Celador last week for a cheque worth.........£1 million. Read into that what you will

How about "this edition was filmed last week"? Still, it's all grist to the conspiracy mill.

Didn't it say in the papers that it was filmed on the weekend?

I was given to believe that the show is filmed about four days in advance. So, Friday, then.
Anyway, the above was all a bit "a friend of a friend tells me..."

Yes...but it's harmless fuel for the conspiracy fire. And you can't tell me it won't make some gossip column somewhere...
Didn't they say it was filmed on Sunday afternoon, giving the press time to get wind of it.
depends when the 20th of Novemebr was - since that wad the date on the cheque - unless they were cunning enough to just insert edit shots of a cheque with that date on it, or post date the cheque during the filming being sure to warn the pony club not to cash it until the 20th :O)
oh, and as for the lottery - there's no doubt branson's bid is better.
I shuddered right from the start when takealot, err sorry, camelot were put in charge.
it's just one moneygrab after another.
and I suspect private eye have a bee in their bonnet over branson cos he's a successful businessman who likes to do business.
They're just waiting for him to fall so they can pounce, with the newspapers close behind.

Neil Shand (her husband) used to write for Jasper Carrot many years ago (among many others) and Jasper is one of the owners of Celedor!!
Hmmmmmmm

The Branson Empire is not entirely the clean, slick operation that everyone thinks it is!!
The computer company that The Peoples Lottery will use are just as dodgy (or probably more so) Than G-tech the company that the lottery people don't like.
I have a problem with all these big companies suddenly doing something for nothing, and there's no garuntee that the people lottery won't just flop on its arse or have loads of many technical problems
