90 minutes of victor meldrew is sulrey too much. THe should cut the first 'celebration' show, especially with that title. THe last thing we need is 'classic clip' being pulled from thier context and having thier comedy value destroyed. "oh, i love that bit where he gets buryed in the garden with the flowerpot over his head" "oh, what about the one where he picks up the phone, except its not aphone, its a dog (or cat, or whatever the fuck it was, to be honest, i've lost interest)"
BBC - wankers, the lot of them.

I'll withhold judgement until I've seen it, but you might be right. With scripts as delicately structured as OFITG, pulling scenes from context will make it look like Some Mother's Do 'Ave 'Em, or Last Of The Summer Wine, where sequences build to a visual climax that can easily be snipped out ("Oh, he's fallen in the tar").
It's not funny that Victor's buried in the garden, it's the inexorable build to the farcical payoff that provides the comedy.
God knows what any non-fan will make of the compilation. Probably just glad they missed what appears to be clunking farce.

I'm looking forward to the clip of Victor falling through the serving hatch that his wife has left open.

Well, not only did the first £1m win go up against Victor, but Tarrant repeatedly said "I don't believe it".
Is it just a TINY BIT suspicious that the last big win (half a million sovs) coincided with Frank Butcher's exit from EastEnders on the other side?
How would it be possible to fix the results of "Millionaire"? Are we looking at a conspiracy of "Quiz Show" proportions here?

Just seen the thread on Millionaire further down. I will continue my paranoid ramblings there and leave this thread for Meldrew chat.

Disappointing last episode? i think so. If Renwick can't think of a way of making death funny (which is strange, as i'm sure he;s done it before) then what was the point in the episode? What was the point in the ending as well? Methinks he got confused between OFITG and Johnathan Creek...
