Mmm. Thinking of checking it out myself. Haven't heard TOO many bad reports. Loved the original - and it was hardly flwaless, let's be honest - and, though Hurley hasn't done anything of worth since "Christabel", the film is by Harold Ramis and does feature Brendan Fraser, who is usually excellent value...
I can't believe I'm even saying this...

Does Harold Ramis still act, or is he just a director? I haven't seen him in anything except Ghostbusters.

I thankfully didn't pay to see it... It sucks. It sucks worse than Blair Witch 2.

It has its moments, with Hurly's costumes & whatnot, and Brendon is clearly really _trying_, but it runs slap-bang into this big wall of schmaltz about halfway through. and Hurly's ever-changing accent and poor acting abilities keep it from even scrambling halfway up.

It was a nice way to waste two hours without having to think. so, too, is staring at a wall.

(i am, of course, admitting that I sneaked into the cinema to see it. forgive my bad grammar and nonsense, I'm very ill.)

Massive Pete & Dud fan but have never manged to get hold of the original... Anybody got it on tape? Likewise the Best of NOBA compilation vid that came out about 1990... had it, lent it to a mate, he fucked off with it.
You should also check out "The Rise And Rise of Michael Rimmer" if only for Peter Cook's weird resemblance to Iain Lee.

Didn't a still from that use to be on the opening page of "Cook'd and Bomb'd"? I did once tell them a picture of Cook they had looked eerily like IL. Perhaps that's why they took it down.
