I'd also completely forgotten about the 'Emergency Broadcast' on that particular Brass Eye. If only it were true.

Maybe it was - not seen much of Edmonds since...
That would be the best Christmas present ever, Noel Edmonds incarcerated in a maximum security institution. One can only dream!
What DID happen to him?
Really, I mean?
Erm....he probably works in Th* M*ll*n**m D*m*. It'd suit him.
Didn't he like, er, kill someone?
He fell out with the BBC and took his ball home. The BBC changed the locks and sniggered at him from an upstairs window.
>Didn't he like, er, kill someone?
No-one told me
He killed a couple of people by getting them to jump off bridges on live national television.
But he did invent Mr Blobby, so that was good.
I thought the Edmonds debacles were:
1. Late Late Breakfast Show - man trying to drive a car over a load of buses, crashed in a cloud of rust. This went out live and Edmonds laghed merrily, until it became clear the bloke was seriously injured. As this was Saturday evening, the story turned up in the news shortly after. Edmonds apologetic, serious voice etc. next week. LLBS scrapped, comes back next season with a new name.
2. Man wins chance to go bungee jumping off a big crane. Cable breaks, he falls to his death. Court case.
Haven't heard from you yet, Nunuf. Do you want my address again?
I haven't heard anything interesting recently, Jon.
(Well, there was something about two magazines fighting over readers, but it's pretty tame, and they're going about it in very silly ways.)
Wasn't there an incident where some kids died at one of Edmonds charity fundraisers?
>Wasn't there an incident where some kids died at one of Edmonds charity fundraisers?
NOT AN INCIDENT! AN IDENT!
IT WAS GRADANADA 1971
no horrible death in helicopter, horrible no fun at all.

What really happened was that Michael Lush ( a member of the public picked at random) was killed in a *rehearsal) for the bungee jump stunt. The LLBS was cancelled that week and never re-appeared.
A couple of years later Noels Saturday Roadshow started
Not sure about the car stunt injury
I think I heard one of the Mr Blobbies almost died after an actor was forced to spend hours inside his costume at some live event or other. Is that true?
