Well, in our household, every time the queen comes on telly on Xmas Day, it's time to carve the turkey, and read out cracker jokes VERY LOUDLY.
Draw your own conclusions from that.......

I agree. 3 hours of Tom & Jerry followed by 3 hours of PREVIOUSLY UNSHOWN Simpsons eps would make for the most entertaining Xmas viewing of my entire life. Mind you, it's usually rubbish, isn't it?

The only clarification I would add to that would be to make certain that the Tom and Jerry classical concert that won the Oscar was NOT shown. Not again. Please.
Actually I'd like a bit of Laurel and Hardy too.

Does anyone know why they ain't on telly any more, not even satellite? Is it some kind of video-only deal? My kids are growing up without knowing the joy of Laurel and Hardy (course, I could stop being a tightwad and just buy some videos, I suppose...)

In the early 80s BBC2 showed loads of old black&white comedy in the early evenings: L&H, Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, etc. Nowadays it's all Def 2 and all that rubbish.

I don't know why they aren't on telly any more. I have got a lot of them on video, but some are recorded off the telly from years ago, so are fairly poor quality.

I've probably been on this forum too long, but I thought by L&H you meant Lee & Herring. I knew they were hard working, but still...

Yes, the prospect of "A Yuletide Ham Shank with Iain" is rather scary.
