Neither of the Corpses are amusing Posted Sat Nov 11 19:41:30 GMT 2000 by 'Neil'

Could someone explain what I'm missing from The Corpse's new direction?

For instance, spending ages constructing massive Flash animations just to call Time Gentlemen Please "complete shit." Is this funny or clever where the Corpses come from? Or are they still desperately trying to prove that they're not Richard Herrings bitches, albiet in a childishly pointless way?

The TVGH thing,,,well I find it hypocritical and, again, utterly childish.

As for the personal insults, childish jibes and lazy trolling The Corpses have directed towards me today on a Chris Morris web-forum, again I find myself thinking "what's the point?" Is lazily aiming sub-Morris phrases like "wank-bag" at me the much-vaunted "direct action" that The Corpses believe will change the face of comedy?

Who installed these jaded po-faced gits as supreme arbiters of comedy, anyway? And why are they *so* intent on cruelly attacking anyone who's ever supported them?

Fair comment.

Strictly speaking, this thread should be called "Neither of the Corpses is amusing"

Neither is a singular, you see, and that is the subject of the sentence.

That's all just your opinion not everyone thinks that lots of people liked them see other posts blah blah blergh...

Ah, hmm yes... important point here. I presume this is referring to the messages on the cook'd and bomb'd message board. If not, nevermind, the same point still applies.

Whoever it is having a go at you Neil, it is absolutely not the corpses... (I can only presume you think this because someone has anonymously posted a message saying it is, which isn't very good proof is it?).

Similarly Peter, the corpses haven't posted a message on this forum for quite sometime, so you are also wrong to suggest certain people are them when they've made a point you disagree with. The fact is, they're just people who like the corpses work in the same way you don't.

>Who installed these jaded po-faced gits as supreme arbiters of comedy, anyway? And why are they *so* intent on cruelly attacking anyone who's ever supported them?

Nobody has 'installed' them, they're just making their own points on their own website. It's all in your imagination.

You mean, I *would* be wrong, had I actually suggested that.

Well it's just that when you said

"You are presumably a "corpse", then?"

in the 'Corpses do TVGH' thread it heavily implied it.

Not only that, I also recieved emails about the matter, all of which pointed the finger firmly at The Corpses. As The Corpses had a dig at C+B on the old site, I felt it was a natural extension for them to start singling me out for attention.

If this isn't the case, and I've been manipulated into having a pop at them, then I can only apologise unreservedly.

Yeah I know... I just thought it would be funny to get you to go and find the right message, copy and paste, etc.

I cannot possibly conceive how anyone could think the pubescent Mike on Cookd and Bombd is in anyway connected to the Corpses. It's almost as if some of these comedy types are hankering after a Corpse bashing as reassurance that they've made it.

Generally it seems the people the Corpses attack are not at all vulnerable victims but usually rather seemingly arrogant characters who could do bringing down a peg or two anyway. Charlie Brooker's introduction to the Corpses on this very forum was a very ugly display of self-assertion. It's no wonder the phrase 'wank-bag' stuck in their minds.

And I don't think it's about whether he becomes a successful TV star either. If TV stardom was the only rilement on the agenda then I'm sure there are far more wank-bags to target who already have media success. I'm sure the fact he's heavily scrutinising the very medium he craves to be a part of is merely dust on the elbow of the Corpses reservations about him.

I really hope SOTCAA returns. As for Brooker, good luck to him. May he amount to be something noticeable enough for future TVgohome story scouts to parody.

Yes Kinder, of *course* they are. They really *need* that, don't they?

Unlike, say, The Corpses themselves? People who live in glass houses shouldn't hurl boulders.

You have been tricked Neil. SOTCAA have never contributed to the Cookd & Bombed forum (they actually like and support the site). Never mind... all sorted now.

While we're on the subject, can I have the link for Cook'd and Bomb'd again? I've lost it.

This bit's good though.
