Mark and Lard read some out yesterday. He really should be elected, just so as we can get more of his words of wisdom.

Twat.
I've seen some of the above attributed to Quayle. But Bush is obviously a muppet.
I would like it put on record that I don't give a fuck who is the president.
I'm leaving this thread...now.
Quayle was definitely responsible for the Holocaust burblings, as I've seen the clip, and - I'm pretty sure - some of the others, too. I got that round robin e-mail like everyone else, and only about half of it is attributable to Bush. That doesn't lessen the true horror of the probability that the dozy fucker will win.
Bush is clearly Reagan and there is nothing more frightening than that...
More of these at http://www.bushisms.com
If Bush was only Reagan it wouldn't be so bad. Reagan went ga-ga towards the end of his presidency, that much is clear, but don't forget that before he becamse President he had successfully run the state of California for ten years. It's just that he understood, just as Clinton did, that people don't like a smart President. They want an okay kind of guy, i.e. a bit of a doofus. What Reagan and Clinton both managed to do was portray themselves as much dumber than they were.
Bush, on the other hand, is manifestly as stupid as he looks. His policy of governorship in Texas has essentially consisted of "Uh... you guys do it." This means that over the last four years the oil and pharmaceutical companies have run rampant in the state, with none of those tedious restrictions the Democrats are so keen to place on them, while Bush's pround boast that he has executed more prisoners during his tenure than any previous governor (not just in Texas, but anywhere) bodes pretty damn ill too. A Bush presidency spells profound trouble for everyone, not just in the States. BUT "he ain' goan take mah gun 'way", which is why half of that credulous fucking country voted for him.
In the 1988 election the Democrat Michael Dukakis was sunk by the Republicans who found that he'd paroled a murderer Willy Horton who went on to kill or rape another time. Thereafter any governer who has vague aspirations to the White House is strict on executing anyone eligible.
Clinton was certainly influenced by the Horton affair after 1988. There was a death row case in Arkansas, a murderer who had tried to shoot himself after a bungled hold-up, but he bungled the suicide as well and was brain-damaged. Clinton refused to be lenient and spent the night in Arkansas when the execution was finally carried out, to show his resolution.
The execution happened when some campaigning for the 92 election was already underway. There is a story that the condemned man saw Clinton on TV and said "I'll vote for him". He didn't understand what was going on.

Finally I understand the significance of the line "Willy Horton or will he not get elected?" from that Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy song. Thanks Jon - that's been bugging me for years.
Anyone else harbouring the vague suspicion that those much-derided 2am GMT exit polls in Florida were actually right after all, and somehow Gore's been deprived of tens of thousands of votes state-wide?
I wish we'd got to see Dan Rather writhing around over here - "If we call a state, you can take it to the bank"... "Mothers of America, wake up your children and bring them downstairs - history is being made". Fantastic stuff...

Yes, yes, and yes. Heard the news that the Republican Secretary of State for Florida has refused to allow the hand recounts to continue after tomorrow, thus invalidating them? And the Bush camp has the cheek to accuse the Democrats of politicizing the election. How about not allowing votes to be counted? How is that not 'politicizing'?
Well, I found this picture while looking around on another forum, really funny...
