He's actually quoting Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, as far as I can tell...
That's not really answering the question...
They were both drunk and bored.
I'm not drunk. Not yet, anyhow. And no, I'm never bored when I quote these lines and people reply, and actually know what I'm on about, it genuinely makes me happy and gives a feeling of brotherhood in an otherwise dumbed-down, impersonal world. End of soppy bit.
"I'll take my bloody belt to you!"
"I wouldn't do that father, your trousers will fall down"
>"I'll take my bloody belt to you!"

>"I wouldn't do that father, your trousers will fall down"
If that's meant to be from Blackadder the Third, then, well, I'm disgusted with you. It's not even nearly right. Otherwise... er... carry on.
Blackadder. Don't insult me. It's from Not Only But Also.
I prostrate myself apologetically. The only Not Only... I have on tape is on the terrible BBC 'Comedy Classics' video. Though it does have the father/son sketch about how babies are made, which is a kind of blessing.
The father/son sketch from which I was quoting has sadly been wiped by the idiots at the BBC... however, it does appear on the NABA album, and also the newly-issued "World of Pete And Dud" CD...
Naturally every epsiode of Terry And June is in pristine condition in the BBC archives, on special warm shelves, atop a gold table with special lengthened legs to avoid flooding. Our proud comedy heritage must be preserved.
I see that the audio tape of "World of Pete and Dud" is number 266,920 on the Amazon UK site's list of best selling items. I think Cookie would have loved that. I can imagine him at a party relentlessly berating people, saying, "Yes, but you haven't reached number 266,920 on the Amazon website" over and over again whenever they mentioned an achievement they were proud of.
Now you have this knowledge about chairs and warmth... use it wisely....
