Hoakum Yoakum Posted Mon Nov 6 21:23:01 GMT 2000 by 'Steven'

I've just read that Jim Yoakum has been sacked by the Chapman estate, and it seems to be because of that Out of the Trees script becoming freely available on the internet, and all that carry on here with his 'supposed' abusive comments, which is funny because I thought that was the fake one.

Bloody marvellous. Where did you read that then?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I don't care if this isn't true. I will treasure the pleasure this engendered until I'm old and snapped.

Are you sure it's true? There's nowt about it at that stupid Graham Crackers website (how typical of Yoakum to name it after a type of biscuit we can't get over here, therefore losing the joke on half of his potential audience straight off, through being a blinkered humourless American cunt).

Any more news on this yet? I don't want to open the champagne and then find out it wasn't true...

I don't know TJ, I just read it on the Douglas Adams web site I think, I wouldn't know why someone would make it up. And I doubt it's really big news for anybody other than revenge seeking people on this forum. I still don't think he actually posted all those messages, but there you go, he's still American so he has to damned just for that... just kidding.

disappointingly, when i contacted yoakum (the real yoakum) direct, i have to say, he was thoroughly charming and urbane. i think we can assume that the abusive yoakum was a hoax(um).

If Yoakum does go down (the bad boy) and lose his ludicrous franchise on the Chapman estate, how would a replacement be chosen?
I suggest a vote by several million people, with only 400 of them mattering. That's the way the Yanks usually sort this sort of thing out, I understand...
