Never really seen this... is it as good as my elder siblings insist?

My hazy memory tells me this was a blueprint for Game for a Laugh/Bealde's About, in as much as the 'public' are set up to like a bit stupid while going about their normal business. I seem to recall it getting repeats in the 90s (?) and it still looked shite.

They showed some extracts on that awful Noel Edmunds/Ainsley Harriot Hidden Camera show. A car without an engine going in for a service, and a man in a pet shop eating a goldfish (in reality a sliced carrot). Not very funny but much better than Noel Edmund's new stuff.

Joe McGrath, director of Candid Camera in the early 60's (when Bob Monkhouse was host), later made several softcore porn "comedies" in the 70's, with titles like Girls Come First, I'm Not Feeling Myself Tonight, and Secrets of a Door to Door Salesman.

On the latter, he was credited as having written the script with 'Roy Nicolas'. The latter was actually Denis Norden under a pseudonym. Honestly. "We now move on to our - next batch of cock-ups...."

Wasn't Joe McGrath also one of the four directors of 'Casino Royale'?
