That was Ben Moor, an old mate of L&H apparently.
I heard Emma Kennedy was in PM as well.
was boothby graffoe on TMWRNJ?
I love Boothby
He has a new show in USA, I will let you know when it's on.
His radio show is back soon too.
Ironically, Planet Mirth is comically bad, but I'd rather watch it than the 11 o clock show, because it doesn't have that scornfull self important feel behind it.
Speaking of late night ITV shows, does anyone remember...
1. FRANK SIDEBOTTOM'S FANTASTIC SHED SHOW
I love Frank Sidebottom, and I couldn't care less if you don't.
2. THE DEAD GOOD SHOW
Around the same time as Frank's show (1992?) this one-off pilot was broadcast (in a series of such one-off shows as I recall). 'Twas a sketch show starring then-unknowns Steve Coogan, John Thomson and Caroline Aherne. Shown on a Monday night, and (I think) only in the Granada region.
3. THE FULL MONTY
Waaaay before the overrated ugly stripper film of the same name was this Rowan and Martin's Laugh In rip off (down to "if x married y they'd be xy sketches), presented by... John Thomson and Caroline Aherne (Coogan had gone on to other things at this point, namely Partridge). Basil Brush was a regular, as was Woody Bop Muddy, and I seem to recall that a Lee and Herring sketch "Ian News" was supposed to be on this show but never got broadcast. If anyone has any other info on this show (like who was on it) post it here. I think I saw most episodes, but I was a young pup then. I think most episodes were Granada only, but a compilation of the series was networked.
See! ITV used to have good late night shows... I can't imagine something like The Full Monty appearing on ITV at ANY time on ANY region anymore.
Oh, that's a pity, ITV actually have some half decent shows in their back catalogue but won't bother showing them. Yet Planet Mirth and Babes in the Woods got on air, oh dear.
What about "Stuff The Week"?
Possibly the worst example of 'satire' to ever hit the screens.
