I have it in front of me. Let's see:
dumm de dum
(sigh) heard that one.....
(brief laugh)
skip past Books & Bookmen, Nooks & Corners, Rotten Boroughs, etc, etc, etc
ooh, there's a review of two books about David Beckham.........
Finished.
Nope. Apart from the semi-naked girl on page 29, I wouldn't bother. Mind you, that hasn't stopped me buying almost every issue for the last 6 years.
I know exactly what you mean... but now I want to break the habit.
The last three issues have been the best in quite a while. It doesn't reward a decade of buying mostly average issues, but hey let's not go into that conversational dead end.
Oh go on, lets. The only good thing is the Craig Brown diary, as usual. Even the old "laugh at foreigners" standby, "Funny Old World," is practically non-existent and had to be padded out with some of those amusing misprints from local papers.
"Funny Old World"
Or "Funny OLd Rope", as VLS no doubt calls it. On his way to the bank.
I read his review of Richard and Judy in the Standard the other day... good to see that he doesn't shy away from tackling the difficult topics. His opinions were certainly enlightening - I had no idea TV could get any better than 'This Morning.'
