Er... did anyone else hear Michael Buerk sign off the BBC 10'OClock News with "And Newsnight with the enigmatic Jeremy Paxman is just starting on BBC2"? "The enigmatic"? Does this signal the start of a new BBC "get cute" campaign? Or is Michael Buerk just getting madder?

Tragically, neither. One of the WWII Enigma codebreaking machines was stolen some weeks ago and turned up in Paxman's mail today.
