Most ITV companies, including LWT are signed up to the ITV corporate system, LWT only changed because of the dullness of the present branding across ITV, but since the resources are now pooled LWT cannot spend on branding like it once did, particularly as part of an expanding and increasingly corporatised Granada Media, and so physically cannot do anything about the current situation, even if it wanted to. Sad fact of life. ITV cannot be seen to be changing their image too quickly, so the position will not change for at least a couple of years yet.
I have to agree that LWT's creativity has gone. The next captions for example are exactly the same as the logo except for an ITV 2 logo at the bottom. The production caption is from 1996/7 & they only have two variations of the main logo. Although The logo is quite good the rest is crap. Carlton have even gone back to menus which appear after this morning telling you what is coming up after london today at 1:30 but the only crap that is on is Dales' Supermarket Sweep, Blue Healers, or any other crap local programme. Bring back Minder that was on in the summer It brought back memories of Thames & the good old days. And it was the first thing in a long time on ITV that made me Laugh.
