>Dot goes down. It was filmed yesterday.
Who does she go down on? Will it be shown pre-watershed?
Sorry.
She's gonna miss her fags.
I was banking on an earthquake to hit Albert Square. With no survivors.
Rats.
Frank and Pat making the beast with two backs - now *there's* a massive Eastenders spoiler!
I'm gonna barf! NOBODY on Eastenders should even think about sex.

Anyone else remember the time in the late 80s when the Beeb was looking for an overhaul for EastEnders, as they felt it was getting a bit stale, and they asked a whole host of writers to put forward their ideas for major new plotlines? The writer David Yallop - as far as I know, NOT the David Yallop who's written books on P2 and the assassination of Pope John Paul, but then again, we've all got to pay the rent somehow - submitted an admirable storyline whereby an IRA bomb went off in Albert Square, killing up to half the cast including several major characters. Cue heartrending storylines, nailbiting drama, etc etc, plus a chance to replace some of the dead wood with new characters. The idea was rejected out of hand on the grounds of taste, but did make it into the papers on the grounds of hilarity - after all, who can resist the sheer balls-out scorched-earth act of culling all your favourite characters in one episode: "Pat? PAT!" "Arfur? ARFUR!" "Sanjay? SANJAY!" "Grant? GRANT!" Etc.
For the record, David A. Yallop is a highly respected screenwriter who wrote many 'Play For Today' offerings in the Seventies. He also forced the government to reopen the casebook on Derek Bentley after 'To Encourage The Others'(dir:Alan Clarke) which he wrote in 1972.
A very political writer.
More to the point, how come you still get a red name?
*sulks*
Very soon Sonia gives birth. Sorry if that spoils it for anyone

Yes - the latter was better than 'Let Him Have It', IMHO. But I'm afraid he was the same one who had the Eastenders idea, I think he sued the Beeb for non-payment of commissioned work or something. Yallop also apparently started off in TV as a scene-shifter, and blagged in by writing filler jokes for the Rolf Harris show. Which would have been more honourable than writing for Deadenders, let's face it. He was also one of the many co-writers listed on Graham Chapman's A Liar's Autobiography - if a certain bearded American git allows me to say that, of course......
