The Beautiful Game Posted Thu Oct 12 12:45:47 BST 2000 by 'Nunuf Urbuznuz'

Anyone want to comment? Anyone see the nauseating sight of Elton and Lloyd-Webber singing it on Parky?

I started a strand a week or two back and it soon died through lack of interest.

Why don't you suggest the 11OCS team take a night off and see it together, Nunuf? You could all write a brilliant piss-take afterwards...

I think a compare and contrast excercise would be interesting.

Beutiful Game and 11ocs.

The project could take me away from having to write the latter.

The latter could do with more song and dance routines. Lloyd Webber isn't working with Richard Stilgoe anymore, you could draft him in.

It's showtime. Hold the front page.

I said it the other week, though none of your colleagues noticed, you could have RS do a satirical song at the end.

Better still, have someone billed as a "satirical songwriter", who promises to do a song at the end throughout the show, who is obviously a complete twit and the other presenters hate him, and when he tries to perform it it always ends in disaster somehow/has to be cancelled (to the glee of Jon and Sarah). In the last show of the series he actually does do a song (about "police morale")... and it's "The Laughing Policeman". And everyone loves it and the credits roll past the merry studio party.

Just an idea.
