I'm confused myself. Isn't Nathan Barley the name of a regular TVGOHOME character????
Wasn't ther a dead famous Blue Jam radio sketch about a man who had a talking dog called Rothko? And the dog made him do strange things just to make him look even madder to people than he already was. It was very strange, Morris teased some people by putting small clips of a Rothko-esque film of a dog pulling a man along on a lead in various episodes of Jam, but never a full sketch (The Radio sketch was 15 minutes long or something I think, so it wouldn't really fit in Jam). Maybe he's going to do a full series about it.. hmm.
Fits in with the rumour I heard about this time last year, that they had filmed a couple of the monologues for "jam", including Rothko and the man/gun/gibbon one, but had found that they turned out too long to fit in the actual episodes, and were considering making a series of episode length monologues instead.
If you watch "jam" carefully, you can clearly see a couple of extracts from what appears to be the Rothko sketch...
So Morris is working on a project involving Nathan Barley (aka Cunt)? Does this mean he's part of the TVGoHome TV transfer, as described here (http://www.zeppotron.com/press.html)
That could be cool. And it would make the Corpses spin in their graves. Brooker and Morris on the same prog.
Or it could be all bollox.
Morris is working with Brooker as a kind of satire on the idea of being good. Paul Garner is the script editor.
If Morris considers TV Go Home to be a funny and exciting project on which to work, then he's genuinely lost it. Just like every other cunt in the business.
The idea of talking dog is insanity.
Perhaps CM is toying with us all when he described the man as "Nathan Barley"... possibly a joke?
And could this thing be a short film, maybe, instead of a series?
>Perhaps CM is toying with us all when he described the man as "Nathan Barley"... possibly a joke?

This might well be the case. I can imagine CM saying that in the knowledge that certain of his fans would squeeze a bowel at the prospect of him collabprating with Mr Brooker. Having said that, I think TVGOHOME is very very funny and it wouldn't be totally bizarre if they did something together. You'll notice on the site that TVGOHOME is on holiday at the moment......
Why are people castigating CM for possibly being about to consider doing something that they actually have no evidence of whatsoever?
Stick to the version I posted above. It's better, and more likely.
And you wonder why he's secretive... about ten cryptic words get out and immediately you're all shouting the revealed truth like the followers of Brian.
IT IS A SHOE!
NO IT'S A SANDAL!

I'm confused. The press release claims that Zeppotron's previous credits include Brass Eye. Does anybody know in what capacity, because they weren't in the writing credits.
Morris' Blue Jam CD is out in a week or so.
While not wanting to fuel a pointless rumour mill, someone I was working with knew both Brooker and Morris and I think they'd got talking over dinner which lead to the appearance of 'Junior Jam' in a TV Go Home around the time of Jam's transmission.
Son of Sam D?
Blimey! Why wasn't I told!?
Who is the mother?
It was a reference to the so-called 'Son of Sam' serial killer in New York in the 70s, who claimed (Chris Morris-ly enough) to receive his instructions from a talking dog.
Apologies to anyone who got the joke and didn't need it explaining - and to Sam D.
Did the jury accept the 'talking dog' defence?

Yeah, I got the reference.. but missed the talking dog part! Which was the point I suppose! Doh.
No apologies necessary. In fact, I apologise for missing the point.
>Morris' Blue Jam CD is out in a week or so.
Where can one purchase it? Is it generally available, or via mail order only?
In any 'good' high street store, sir.

It (being a 70 minute compilation of sketches) is indeed generally available, on Warp records, on 23 October.
Speaking of Warp, is anyone here going to their all-nighter in London this Saturday?
Would this include such emporia as WHSmith, HMV, etc. or do I have to go to a shop not pandering to mindless top 40 studying brats?
Tricky one... the major stores are notorious for the incompetency that they display in stocking both Warp releases and CM-related stuff...
Is there any other CM products that I might get somewhere other than an HMV?
I only know of Why Bother and the The Day Today vids...
>Is there any other CM products that I might get somewhere other than an HMV?

No. Other than the solitary On The Hour collection- which is tape only unless its been deleted. Blue Jam on the other hand is £10.99 from Jungle.com
"Speaking of Warp, is anyone here going to their all-nighter in London this Saturday?"
Bugger, I'll be in Eastbourne... you couldn't tape it, could you? At least, the Broadcast bits?
>Bugger, I'll be in Eastbourne... you couldn't tape it, could you? At least, the Broadcast bits?
I don't think (though my memory is not to be trusted) that they're appearing. In fact, I'm sure they're not because I remember feeling a little disappointed that they weren't on the bill, but still there's plenty that are!
The rumour I heard was that Morris had been talking to the Corpses about a TV version of SOTCAA, but they refused to participate when they heard he wanted Charlie Brooker on board. So I don't know if 'TV Go Home' is his Plan B or something. Anybody else know anything?

Yeah... that's bullshit.
according to chrisfelch (an e-group gathering it's proving impossible for me to unsubscribe from), he was filming a car accident in highgate last week. i hope it wasn't a real one.

more news from chrisfelch:
"Wow! Finally a mailing list where I beat everyone else to the goss.
Chris Morris is apparently working with Charlie Brooker off TVGoHome
on a programme related to TVGHs "cunt" character Nathan Barley, they
will both co-write, Brooker will produce and Morris will direct. He
approached Brooker as he was a big fan of TVGH (hopefully he liked
all the bits Brooker wrote, not the ones sent in by readers...) It's
supposedly a cross between I'm Alan Partridge and TVGH, where a sort-
of sitcom (in the loosest sense) shows scenes from Nathan's life, and
we see clips of the TVGH-style programmes he's making. Morris may
play NB or not (I hope so: he's already appeared on one of those
cunty little scooters in Jam, hasn't he? He looked quite Nathan-ish
in all those title sequences, too.) I use the word apparently because it's still obviously unconfirmed,
but as rumours go this has been around for a while so something's
probably happening. Does anyone like the sound of this? I like TVGH
but I prefer pure unadulterated Chris morris. We'll see anyway."
this was all written by a guy called jamie. anyone got any idea if it's even 50% true? i'd have thought the new series was all monologue-style stuff brought to life (a la rothko etc etc).

New monologue series - I've heard that rumour more often over a more prolonged period of time, so I'm sticking to that until proved otherwise...
Is it possible that "jamie" picked up that rumour from this forum...?
This kind of unsubstantiated, seventh-hand, Chinese-whispered, half guesswork, half made up, half total bollocks, misheard nonsense masquerading as rumours is how wars start.
I'm off to the former Yugoslavia. Anyone else coming?
"a TV version of SOTCAA"? What a ridiculous notion. How would that go, precisely? Two blokes sitting around banging on about how things were better on the radio?
>"a TV version of SOTCAA"? What a ridiculous notion. How would that go, precisely? Two blokes sitting around banging on about how things were better on the radio?
I'd watch it.
Surely they should make a radio version of SOTCAA first, so that when they make the TV version, they can slag themselves off.
>"a TV version of SOTCAA"? What a ridiculous notion. How would that go, precisely? Two blokes sitting around banging on about how things were better on the radio?
No doubt copied by Justin, Jason and TJ in their own show
