The Krankies' Elektronik Komik (sic) Posted Tue Oct 10 11:45:48 BST 2000 by 'Jon'

Anyone got any fond memories of it, eg. of being in the studio audience?

Or just memories of it?

I remember a Krankies series where the theme tune went "you can be a little Krankie, and be one of Jimmy's gang, you can live life like a firework, as you go off with a bang, you can be a little Krankie, make the front page headline news, be a star on all the TV (yes, singular), tell a joke and blow a fuse".

But after someone complained, they changed "go off with a bang" to "grow up with the gang".

Class!

I think that it's sick that he makes that school-boy dress up as a small middle-aged woman, when they're not on the telly.

I have had the misfortune of seeing the Krankies' recent "adult" show. The funniest moment was when something went wrong with a cue and the pair of them were stuck frozen on stage for aaaaaaages. Apart from that it was gut-churningly awful.

Have they re-positioned themselves as a naughty 'adult' act, like Keith & Orville did?

Yes and it's horrendous - nudge-nudge references to the fact that she's actually a woman and they actually fuck each other. I'm still in therapy.

Oh, plus at one point she comes out dressed as a woman and sings a song. And does a dance. And...and...<collapses sobbing into keyboard>

MY PILLS! MY PILLS!

But that really is sick! They can't make jokes like that.

People will do anything if it's the only way to put food on the table. Didn't you hear Keith's novelty dance single?

I heard tell of it, but know little of the specifics.

It was built entirely around a chorus of Orville saying "Eeeee...". As you can imagine, people who take ecstasy would find this powerfully entertaining.

It also caused a "stop this sick record of death"-type write-up in the News Of The World, or some such journal.

Was this widely available?

I never thought Harris would prostitute himself in such a short sighted manner.
Just think of all the adolescents and teenagers that regard Orville as a hip role model, and will rush out to buy the love drug E on his say so.

It all happened years ago, so long that it has even been on NMTB.

At least Roger De Courcey has never seen the need to sully himself with vulgarity.

No, he does it because he likes it.

In light of my earlier posting, can we expect an Edit News section on The Krankies?

Am I alone in thinking Roger de Courcey has a passing resemblance to Greg Dyke?

I'd just like to point out here I have but one single memory of this show, and it is of Jeanette Krankie playing a white haired granny in a showstopping sketch/song called "My Granny Was Taken By The Aliens". Something like that, anyway...
