Things Can Only Get Better

For those with Radio 4, (irony), comments please.
It's not what I expected, and not as funny as the book, but been turned into more of a "Pop years of Tory Rule". Still rather good though, but then I'd probably support anything that waved a red flag.

That book looked poor to me, was I very wrong? How does the humour operate?

O'Farrell gives a heartfelt account of being a Labour supporter at the worst possible moment in history to be a Labour supporter. He talks of the endless hard work he put into Labour election campaigns, both local and national, over the years - all of which ended in dismal failure (well, except one.....) He sends up the excesses of the left in the 80s with affection. And the jokes and swearing in it are quite good.
