STILL George's answerphone message from Seinfeld:
"If I was in, I'd pick up the phone
Where can I be?"
>STILL George's answerphone message from Seinfeld:

Sorry everyone else - don't know where else to put this observation:
Al - think I've worked out why George's answerphone song was so familiar. There was an awful song called "Believe It Or Not" in the early 80s performed by Joey Scarbury as the theme tune to an American TV show called "The Greatest American Hero" - I think (but can't be sure) that George is singing over a backing track.
Somehow, this makes it even funnier.
We're talking Seinfeld here - sorry everyone.
Yes, this is true. That show was excellent BTW, I remember it being screened in the post-kids TV 11:30am Saturday morning slot in the mid-80s. Well, I thought it was excellent at the time. But then, I also liked "My Secret Identity" at the time.
Oh, and I also had George's answerphone message stuck in my head days after hearing it. If I had an answerphone I would use it. But I would replace "George" with "Paul". Obviously.
I'll just copy Prisoner Simon and pretend to have my own views:
>'Unsolved Child Murder' The Auteurs
>'Come to Daddy' Aphex Twin
And (sigh) anything by Robbie Williams. They are all evil. Evil Evil Evil...
The 'Tales of the Unexpected' theme, natch.
Oh, and 'Ooh, Stick You' by Daphne & Celeste.
"Satan Is Boring" by Sonic Youth.
Or anything from the "Bad Moon Rising" album. Genuinely unsettling music that sounds nothing like heavy metal, and doesn't have a cheesy "2000AD" cartoon on the sleeve, numbskulls.
the theme music to radio 4 panel game 'hoax' (with tim brooke taylor): slow, sinister and upsetting trad-jazz.
salty, how is the sky diving going? Have you got the hearing in your left ear back?
kinder surprise, i'm afraid you've got the wrong salty. don't worry, its a common problem.
Are you saying you don't currently have a bout of cloud rash?
The Way I Am by Eminem, although I forgive it because that keyboard riff is exactly the same melody as Subculture by New Order (which was probably the same as Spacer by Sheila B. Devotion, no doubt, but I can't be sure on that one).
Eminem is crap. I think he believes his inane twoddle is actually better than that of those he slags of in his songs. The very fact he is making references to established 'artists' in order to give his music prestige shows he's in the same shallow pool as all the rest. And who cares about his torrid views anyway? He's as thick as his ego.
*applause*
And he's now going out with the witless P!nk (she who is tasty in a sort of Shauna the lifeguard from Home and Away fashion). What a smashing couple. Sort of the US Posh and Becks.
>What a smashing couple. Sort of the US Posh and Becks.
lol. Yes but these two have started out with each others hairstyles give or take the neon variation.
Ah. What I meant was that I like Subculture by New Order, and the Eminem record reminds me that I like it. Not the Eminem thing itself. No.
He is rapidly becoming so self-obsessed with his own cult of personality he is the Robbie Williams of America. What a platitude. Come to that, what a prick.
GAAAAH Robbie Williams, there's another self obsessed little oik. Although, compared to Eminem he is a genius, a sensitive, intelligent man, and sexy to boot*
*Note: This is ~only~ when compared to Eminem, I loathe Williams with all my little heart.
And Limp Bizkit too. What a pile of shit they are. Just another strain of Robbie Williams with a few guitars and the deception that they are credible thrown in.
Them and Slipknot. Just N*Sync with masks. American youths are tres gullible. I remember when rock music was real, and meant something. Bah, where's my check shirt, DMs and black band t-shirts?
>And Limp Bizkit too. What a pile of shit they are. Just another strain of Robbie Williams with a few guitars and the deception that they are credible thrown in.
In each case, you can almost forgive the 12-year olds for liking them. It's when people (usually blokes, not always, but usually) old enough to know better say things like "He is/They are so cheeky". Pathetic. I was in a room full of such wankers on Saturday. There's your RW explanation anyway.
>Bah, where's my check shirt, DMs and black band t-shirts?
On Cherryl Crow?
That cow! Aaaaah how I long for the Summer of 1993. *sigh* We'l never see those days again!
"[RW is] a sensitive, intelligent man, and sexy to boot"
Can't we just boot him?
