Sorry about the black message. Here's what I meant to say:
In last nights Ads Infinitum, Victor Lewis-Smith decided to include a frame of white text on a red background during a close-up of some mints. For those that had a sleepless night last night, here's what it said:-
Subliminal message without a trace of obscenity in it...
So there you are.
Oh, the scamp!
He richly deserves his £100,000 a year (allegedly) - and that's just for re-printing the same 5 TV reviews over and over again, in between his 17 holidays.
He's gone again this week. It's Pete Clark in the Standard. And the Mirror on Saturday has had to invent a whole page of news...
Victor's probably reading this site right now, sipping his brandy, laughing heartily at his merry antics...
Just read Pete Clark's column in the Evening Standard. He seems to have given VLS's Ads Infinitum a good review. Good work, Clarky, don't bite the hand that feeds ya. Oh, and Vic wil send you cheque tomorrow. It's filed in that small cylindrical container marked 'rubbish bin'. Laughs smugly to himself, whilst reading out stage direction like Mork used to do, only better. OW, tray on head, OW, tray on head...
At least he makes the effort to turn tired TV formulas on their head without having to resort to "post irony irony" or whatever they're calling bad comedy these days.
I've also haven't seen anyone review TV and write about current events as intelligently as he does for a long time. Yes, he uses old jokes, but he uses them with intelligence and self-awareness. That's the difference. Oh, and they're actually funny.
