Good, I'll see them when I'm in Coventry at the end of the month. I'll also be up in Leeds for a while as well so I'll be able to see the newish Yorkshire stuff.

I refer you to my posting some weeks back! Central and Westcountry will not be returning - Carlton is here to stay in the Midlands and South West.

I doubt after all the money they have spent in re-vamping the Central Studios with Carlton logos etc they idea to return the names was never really forthcoming from the big wigs.

Incidentally I was talking to someone who said that Carlton wanted their London presentation to come from the Birmingham Studios they are keen on moving out of the London Studios shared facilities with LWT.

Names, doesn't mean logos, I expected just the name to change. I'll probably get roasted for this but i think the star is better than the cake, but only with central written over it. But I was dissapointed when I first saw a Carlton Ident

During the nineties to about 98, Central had easily the best set of idents of all ITV regions. If you didn`t get it look at TV ARK and no other regions idents compared in my opinion. It`s just such a shame what has now happened to it. Why oh Why oh Why couldn`t Carlton have left it as it was to do it`s own thing. It had a real professional set up .I`ve also noticed now lots of its announements are pre recorded, they`ll just say something like `your watching Carlton` before every prog. I now have two naff ITV stations as I also get YTV which has also gone down the pan in recent years and just the memories left

I miss Westcountry's idents. Their W's were pretty classy, along with the 30 second "Westcountry Life" inserts. But that sadly didn't compensate for the loss of Gus Honeybun....
