TV Forum Posted Sat Sep 30 12:32:18 BST 2000 by Rob S

Ok, things are back to normal now, the problem(s) have been sorted. Please don't bother asking for an explanation on what's been going on, it's not constructive...

All the sites are back to their normal selves now, with the obvious exception of SOTCAA. We're currently looking for a new home for it, as the upcoming update makes it too large to continue hosting it on mudhole.

Whilst we were away I did notice an alarming tendency by some users to speculate, make wild assumptions and make social climbing attempts by proclaiming they knew all the behind the scenes info. Not only was this behaviour incredibly unhelpful for me (making a bad situation worse - yes, it did lead to this forum being shutdown) but it also a incredibly stupid, selfish thing to do. Anyone who continues this behaviour on any of my sites will find their account will be frozen and their IP site banned. You might think this is a bit harsh, but I'm tired of people using this pathetic postulating to speak on 'behalf' of myself or the corpses. By all mean express your own opinions, just don't try and second-guess mine.

All that said, thank you to those of you who did send messages of support during the downtime, either via emails or other means, it is appreciated. We are aware that quite a few persons were distributing rumours via emails behind our backs, but we already know about their gullibility, so we'll ignore that. As the old saying goes, at times like this you really find out who your friends are... we know who you are. Cheers.

Anyway, I'm glad the forum's back, coz I really missed it.

Now, the question is, who's going to start the first new thread?

Checking my inbox, all I've got is your obituary (to which there isn't anything I can reply) and the 'hug' email which has come out garbled and looks like a forward. Please bear in mind I have been receiving a large number of emails asking me what's going on, so it's hardly surprising I can now get some mixed up... now I appreciate you're not feeling very well at the moment subbes, but so far your behaviour is very confrontational. What's the deal with invented quote ("people who are evil scum for speculating") for example? You don't know the full facts of the situation, so why are you supporting a group you don't even know? I can tell you that the people I was referring to in my first message do not care about this website, only their own personal status.

's not my fault it's garbled, it was fine when I sent it. you've not been using Eudora again, have you? i thought you'd quit.

>What's the deal with invented quote ("people who are evil scum for speculating") for example?

I was taking your words and putting my own spin on them. Lawd knows you're never confrontational, but it seemed you were doing your best to be "nice" to "evil" people. Quote parks put in because I felt like it, really.

> You don't know the full facts of the situation, so why are you supporting a group you don't even know?

There wasn't any "support" anywhere for any groups that I can see. Unless I got very confused. Tell me if you see any postings about yellow elephants, then we'll both know I've flipped.

>>What's the deal with invented quote ("people who are evil scum for speculating") for example?

Right, yes, time to rearrange my words so they sound better. it was'nt a quote, nope, never ever ever. just since it was a label for a box of people (can you put more than one person in a box, i wonder? maybe if it's a big box, the size of a room or something. But I don't think cardboard would be strong enough, you'd have to make it out of plasterboard... then it would definitely just be a room, not a box. Hmmm.) and would best be put in quotes.

Anyway., i can't remember anythoing anyone says long enough to quote it, apart from the "ribbet" things, whuch you've stopped doing. why, man? Don't kill the frog.

I love painkillers.
