The 11 OClock Show Writing Staff Posted Thu Sep 21 19:13:20 BST 2000 by Justin

How many Paula Yates jokes have they written so far, do you think?

(They've also written some Gary Olsen ones, but these have had to be binned as they feel not enough of their half-pissed undemanding audience will know who the hell he was)

They'll have a film of Bob Geldof being interviewed, and a voice over will intone "you fucked a monster"... no wait, they've already used that line (in relation to Harold Shipman and his wife - possibly the worst joke i have ever, EVER heard - thanks for reminding me of it, Joe)

any of these news item voice overs seem plausible, and all will get an enourmous laugh :

Paula Yates Dies of drug overdose. We all cheer.

Paula Yates dies. As if we care.

Paula Yates is dead but insists Hutchins's family must kill their children humanely.

Paula Yates killed herself because Geldof revealed himself to be Gay

(that last one read by Iain Lee to even more rapturous applause and hilarity)

Prepare yourself for:

Gary Olsen: 2.4 children minus one/now 1.4 - or something along those lines.
Paula Yates: Expect a *Pop Tart* joke.

....actually those are too sophisticated for the 11 O'Clock Show.....their writing staff probaly read the Sunday Sport rather than a broadsheet newspaper.

(Yes, I do really loathe the show).

One of my friends wrote for this show. I've never seen it, and I'm glad. By the sounds of it I'd not like him any more if I had.

He is intensely ashamed, by the way.

It could have been worse. He could have written for The Paul Hogan Show. Or did he?

11OCS rapidly shaping up to be the comedy equivalent of the Early Career Porn Movie. (I blame the demise of Week Ending again).

May I direct your attention to the 'Bye Bye Iain Lee' thread?

Paul Hogan Show?? You got that in the UK? I can only vaguely remember it as a kid, and I have to admit I thought that the stuntman Leo Wanker was very amusing. Please note, I was a child and somebody saying 'wanker' on a show that I was allowed to watch was quite a thrill.

My friend is a Londoner, by the way. He's written for Harry Hill, various good radio projects, and various humiliating TV shows. I remember him writing for the Jack Docherty show last time I was in the UK.

What do you mean "he's written for Harry Hill"? No one has written for Harry Hill bar Harry Hill.
