Blue Jam to be released on CD by Warp Records in October. But why does it have to be a 'best of' compilation? You don't get 'The Best of Fawlty Towers' or 'The Best of I'm Alan Partridge' on video, you get all the episodes as originally broadcast. What is the problem with releasing a radio show in its entirety? It was only six episodes per series for God's sake -- make it a double CD.

I think the main reason the whole series isn't being released in full is due to PRS problems. Each show used lots of pieces of music, from different artists, on different labels, hence there'd be a lot of royalty payments and copyright issues to be settled.
A lot of the third series used songs on the Warp label, who are the company releasing the Blue Jam CD, hence less red tape. Probably.
