Credit sequences on comedy programmes Posted Tue Sep 12 20:28:10 BST 2000 by Justin

They're often worth watching/listening out for for comedic reasons.

Particularly:

*The Simpsons' Halloween Specials (evil twins of everyone involved - James Hell Brooks etc - apart from the animators)
*Brass Eye/Day Today - personal favourite was when there was a penchant for heavy metal musicians on Brass Eye's science episode (including most of Deep Purple's personnel).
*Python obviously - I liked the anagrams one.
*Always used to like "Wigs by Charles" (no surname) on Spitting Image
*"Hugh Laurie's [or was it Stephen Fry's?]Wardrobe supplied by Tideyman's Carpets"

Any more?

'Pinky and the Brain' always supplies the definition of an arcane word in its credit sequence.

The Zucker/Abrams films always yield some joys - 'GAFFER What's a gaffer?'

The rave episode of 'Spaced' gives the whole cast and crew DJ style monikers.

Darma and Greg have an entire page of useless crap right at the end of the credits; well worth a freeze-frame. Shame about the sit-com...

The end credits of "The Organ Gang" on TMWRNJ.

One or two familiar names were in there...

although not programs, The Naked Gun series of films did a similar thing.

"no animals were harmed in the making of this picture, although some species did become extinct:

white crested barn owls, 12 pairs - soundstage fire
horned tapirs, last breeding pair - grip truck
red squirrels, 257 - crew lunch"

and other such gems.

The 2 radio series of Hitch-Hiker used to have jokes in the credit sequences.

"Zaphod Beeblebrox is now appearing in 'No Sex Please We're Amoeboid-Zingatularians' at the Brantisvogan Starhouse"

And the TV show credited Kevin Davies as "mouse wrangler" and "bath superintendent".

Man and Woman deleted from fireworks scene... GREG & MARSHA BRESLAU"
"Mr. Weiss Wardrobe........................... ANDREA THAU"
"Mr. Weiss Divorce Attourney.................. MARSHA DURKO"
[Note: Mr. Weiss is the Second Unit Director]
"In case of tornado........................... SOUTH-WEST CORNER OF
BASEMENT" Near the ending :
Special Thanks to :
Tripoli Rocketry Association (ref to the scene in which the car with the
villian in it crashes into a mobile scud launcher before crashing into a
fireworks store)

Haven't actually checked out the site, I confess...

It is/was great - a gorgeous picture of the gorgeous Amelia Bullmore, plus a list of all the music they used, and som estuff about the writers, etc.

It was AB when I looked - but that was when the series was on. They may have changed it.

Julia Davis is just as pleasant to look at.
