I didn't see it, but you can call her what you like.
Really.
I thought it was pretty bland. I was expecting more reasons to throw bricks at the telly.
The one thing that stood out for me was that a significant proportion of the audience wanted to see a small furry animal dropped into a box. Is that really comedy?
I liked the way she said "fashion is a middle-class invention to keep the working class down" then saying "i drive a car and have a big house, and you just make buildings."
Words to that effect.
>I liked the way she said "fashion is a middle-class invention to keep the working class down" then saying "i drive a car and have a big house, and you just make buildings."
Indeed. She can sometimes be refreshingly anti-establishment but last night she just acted like a tiresome London-centric bore.
She didn't act like it. That's what she is.
Any chance of bombing Canary Wharf again?
Well,mmm...it was just a thought.
Shouldn't we be slagging JSP and the show itself. ROOM 101 has gone spectacularly off the boil. The cat incident was revolting television - Merton playing to the gallery because he only seems to be there for money in his pocket and ratings for Hat Trick. You can also spot his own material (when there is any) from miles off - y'now, crap surrealism.
However Will Self may just salvage something for it's reputation in a couple of weeks.
The Bailey one was good. I think the problem is the guests. On the radio (oh dear I 've used 'that phrase' again) they used to have people on because they were amusing raconteurs not just people who might be a bit 'controversial' - JSP is a classic example of this - someone whose tedious condescending cynicism obliterates anything useful she might potentially be saying.
Didn't see it, 'cos BBC "we can do whatever we want" Wales decided to replace it with some dreary topical stuff. Nevertheless, R101 under Merton's presentership is a markedly different and less funny beast than in the Hancock days. Maybe we're just all getting bored of him...? Nice to see that Bon Jovi doing the hoovering type theme tune was ditched anyway. As has been pointed out however, a good guest can pull the show back vis. BB (but then I've never seen him in anything being unfunny really)...
Yes, definitly a case of merton not as good as Hancock - and i don't even like him. This week was a case of 'presenter better that guest'm which shows how mediocre it was.
>I'm am wrong to call her a stupid cow?
>
Yes, completely. I thought it was on of the funniest things on telly for a long time.
>Yes, definitly a case of merton not as good as Hancock
For the second time in Merton's career.
Ho ho.
(this isn't sarcasm)
I'm 5 minutes into the repeat. Ooooh dear...
