Funny how today's Mirror doesn't mention anything about the shenanigans Gyngell got up to at YTV.

I think that Bruce Gyngell was a brilliant man who saved TV-am when it went wrong. and also he was the only itv executive to truely speak his mind. I always thought everyone was a bit hard on him about the whole C3NE thing really.

No way, not so newboy, that man did more to accelerate the death of Tyne Tees as a real company (as opposed to just a name and a couple of regional news teams) than anyone else. Sorry, but the man was evil in his later years.
