I say find some US-based comedy forum and go over and rubbish them. That'll show we mean business.

Or mail a virus to The Onion.

Hmmm... I just put a tape of "Blue Jam" in the machine and pressed play, and the first line I heard was "the man responsible was probably an American"...

Just looked at the threads on the Douglas Adams site.
What sickens me is the people saying things like:
"Never visited SOTCAA myself, but if they were ripping people off, serves 'em right, I say."
Pathetic.

Yes but, to quote a blabbering idiot that was interviewed by CM once, "what you have to understand is that these people are American, they're American they're American they're American"

Right. Let's knock all this anti-american crap on the head right now. We don't know where this 'complaint' came from do we?

If the first Yoakum character was American I'm from Jupiter. His postings were clearly someone trying to sound like a fat, plaid wearing, cigar-chewing movie stereotype. *No-one* in the US talks like this, let alone writes like it.

Secondly, the REAL Jim Yoakum seemed to be genuine, and seemed quite pleasant. I don't think it's anything to do with OOTT at all. The Corpses removed the script as soon as they were asked. What about Gorman and Wallace? They had more reason to want the site closed. And does that mean all British people are tossers?

You have to admit, a lot of them are.

I'm furious that someone on the DA site claimed we only wanted to meet up and have a drink. For God's sake, that only came up about a week ago, so it shows how much he reads it.

*THAT* is where my current anti-Americanism is coming from. Nothing to do with Yoakum or OOTT, but everything to do with the idiots making ill-informed attacks on us on the Adams site.

How do you know they're all American?

It has to be something bigger than OOTT (something which i stayed out of BTW, for the people on that Adams site) - the whole of the NotBBC was shut down. Perhaps it was the BBC? Al mentioned Gorman and Wallace - i doubt the Hitler parody would be taken kindly. There some specualtion from me - and that's where i'll stop.

I agree that it has to be something bigger, and of course I have my suspicions (one of which is very sinister indeed), but here is not the place to discuss them. I think we all owe Rob and The Corpses that much.

The Yoakum impersonater wasn't American! He used the word 'cunt' too freely. It's not part of the American vernacular.

Are you sure? Metallica did some album or video called "Cunning stunts", which would have meant nothing to their fans if that were true.

"Vernacular"? You're right. It's totally out of character. That's the effect all this is having on her.

Well it's only really used in its anatomical context. Using it in reference to a person is not as prioritized as other select choices like asshole etc.

Believe me I've had first hand experience.

P.S Sam you're still adorable.
