>ITV sketch show, early 80s I think. Was it any good?
Pretty sure this was the TV transfer of Radio 4's The Burkiss Way - written by Renwick & Marshall, it featured Fred Harris and Denise Coffey, but for some reason seemed to get a slot on Sunday afternoons on HTV. Did the rest of the country get it in the evening? Anyway, I remember enjoying it quite a bit....that's about it, though.

Yep. I remember adoring it. Justin's details are correct. Think it was an LWT production.

This is one show I really do adore as a Marshll/Renwick devotee, but it was so badly scheduled, it went out Sunday afternoons in the southern and LWT region too so I assume it was networked but Southern did repeat Series 1 aprox 10.30pm on Thursday evenings and LWT repeated both series late night Fridays so it got seen by some people eventually.
Despite the time it didn't seem to be particularly aimed at children so I would assume that it wasn't written with that slot in mind.
No one but no one seems to remember it though so it's rather nice to see it mentioned here.

I was a huge fan of The Burkiss Way and I've diligently followed everything Marshall and Renwick have written ever since (even 2.4 Children has its moments).
I thoght End of Part One was terrific, but the chances of seeing it repeated are about as likely as Fred Flintstone winning this year's Presidential election.
Another Marshall and Renwick show was The Steam Video Company (Thames). Anyone remember that?
yes that was with Jimmy Mulville, Barry Cryer, the enormously-bosomed Madeline Smith and the powerfully erotic Bob Todd.
