does anyone have any info as it rarely ever gets mentioned. Does it have its own announcers, coming up next frames, make many programs. I would be interested to know

Yes they have all that, and still had in-vision announcers until July last year. They don't make many programmes, but we can forgive them that as they only serve 150 000 people. They also have ITV's last birthday-reading mascot, Puffin!!

Strangely enough, as a condition of their franchise renewal in 1980 they were told to make more programmes for ITV. This led to a few (noteworthy) documentaries and a couple of children's shows, Dodo Club, and Island (a drama series). It seems to have all dried up now. I think Andrew Wiseman's site has an example of the 'coming next' animated ident.
