Soap opera Crossroads is heading back to Britain's TV screens, it was confirmed today.
The show, renowned for its wobbly sets and even wobblier plots, was axed 12 years ago.
But ITV has now boldly decided to give the Midlands-based motel saga a new lease of life.
Like the old show, Crossroads will be based in King's Oak, an imaginary village outside Birmingham, with the new version being brought back to life at Carlton Television's Nottingham studios.
And the five-times-a-week daytime soap will fit into ITV's schedule early next year.
ITV's controller of daytime programmes, Maureen Duffy, said: ``The new Crossroads will be absolutely of our time.
``It will really strengthen our schedule by providing our viewers with strong narrative dealing with the realities, issues and fun of everyday life.''

Dealing with "issues" eh?
Fantastic, and innovative too!
"can't" wait.

They did revive it for 'ATV Night' on BBC2 with incredibly sarcastic and, hey, ironic scripts.

A lot of money is going to be poured into this and it *will* be a mistake. I remember The Guardian listing the proposals for new soaps in June and'Crossroads' sounded like the weakest.

Revivals are almost always a bad idea.

Right. Remember what happened when they tried to revive Emergency - Ward 10. O, right, I forgot, some of you weren't even born then...
