On The Hour Posted Wed Aug 16 01:37:22 BST 2000 by subbes

All rightr, all right. I've refrained from wading into any debates thus far, mainly because of fears that if I as much as put a foot wrong, someone will rip me limb from limb.

...as it happens, that occurs even if you don't get involved in any debate.

So yes. I have a vague recollection of hearing On The Hour, but no idea what it actually was. Other than that it was comedy. and i laughed sometimes. (Then again, i also have vague recollections of hearing the 6 o clock news and seeing only a vague blue blur in place of the "file cards" arrangemrnt. Mainly because i was a myopic child.)

So, yeah. No abuse please, because it's not nice at all, is it? I'd just like someone to bring me out of the dark and tell me what you're all on about.

Seriously Subbes, it's worth discovering.

I also ran an article on it recently - http://www.bluejam20.freeserve.co.uk/ for more details...

There's a hell of a lot of stuff about the show in the Edit News section... but I guess you've already seen that

Um, yeah, that's what got me asking.

I guess I'm just a wee bit too young to have superclear memories of it... though it's very annoying how i almost have memories.

Grr.

(apologies if this is a double post, it didn't show up before)

If this tenth anniversary BBC release doesn't happen, then you may just have to settle for the existing double cassette of highlights. Despite the heavy edits it is the best option right now. Unless you go hunting for home recordings.
