Barry Welsh Is Coming... Posted Tue Aug 15 23:06:21 BST 2000 by Miss Chrorris

...not in the way YOU'RE thinking! Welsh TV is fantastic. Pam Fi Duw, which features characters called Posh Sbeis and Bollacs, also deserves a mention.

Is Pobol Y Cym still going?

That scared me the first time I saw it on English TV. I didn't understand why they were all talking strangely (I was 5).

What about all those Welsh childrens' shows we used to get in the Granada region when the transmitter broke down?

"Ffabalalam" and all of those ones where people said "oooooooh bllan bear" to other people in Bungle-style pantomime bear costumes?

Frightened me, I can tell you...

When is the fourth series of Barry Welsh coming back to our screens???

I can't wait to see if they have uncovered any more footage of Geraint Pillock as that was the highlight of the series for me!!!

If anybody out there can offer us tapes of 'Barry Welsh' then we'd love to see more.

Welsh TV has spawned some comedy shockers too though. What about that 'Papuratzi', eh, Miss Chrorris? It made other people's children vomit...

'Pam Fi Duw' is written by a bloke who taught me Welsh/Drama in secondary school. He was a horrible, spiteful little shit who was vehemently anti-alcohol/narcotics' yet, after his highly publicised 'problems' was reborn as a bearded alternative who 'grew his own'. I suspect his 'Bollacs' character is based on an old friend of mine.

He wrote little playlets for his classes to act out at school too. These too boasted hackneyed references to media icons of the day in a sort of Phil Redmond kind of way. 'Posh Sbeis' sounds typical.

And I was taught in primary school by a woman who played a primary schoolteacher in 'Pobol Y Cwm'. As a result I had a confused childhood and found it difficult to separate fantasy from reality.

Wel, dwy yn hoffi deledu Cymraeg. Ond y peth dwi'n casau ar y foment yw'r dwpdod ar y forum yma sy'n siarad mas o'i dinnau trwy'r amswer. Pobol fel Dan L. Er mwyn Duw, oes ganddo unrhyw dalent o gwbwl? 'Gussett Weekly'? Ie - mewn pidyn chimp! Lan dy dwll, Dan. O na - 'da chi lan 'na beth bynnag, ie?

A beth yn y byd 'di Jon yn trio naed gyda'i 'voice of reason' shenanegins? Fe a Mogwai - mae nhw fel y dick-suck twins rownd y le. Wel, pwy oedd e dwedodd 'Bys a bawd, bys a bawd, mae nhw'n fryndiau fel dau brawd'? Rhywun mas o'r Stereophonics efallau?

Dwy yn hoffi kinder surprise wrth gwrs. A nid fi yw'r uneg un, dwy'n siwr! Ysgwn I pwy mae hi. Yn bosib, rhywun si 'di eistedd ar wyneb Russell Peters ar a foment? Na, na. Drwg iawn gen i, kinder. Beth yw'r Gymraeg am 'devil's advocate'?

Dave Gorman? Dwi'n gwbod un 'Dewi Gorman' ac un 'Dai Gorman' (tad a'i fachgen bach). Dwy'n siwr iawn fyddau Dave yn moen cwrdd a nhw. Ond dwy'n siwr hefyd fyddau nhw'n rhedeg tri-cant milldir i guddio o'r cynt. Pa fath of barf yw hwn? Barf-twat.

Dwi'n credu fod 'Danny Wallace' yn hen Saesneg am 'Rhywun sy ddim yn gwbod unrhywbeth am gomedi ond sydd yn hoff iawn o siared amdano'i hyn'. Gwybodaeth oddi wrth y Welsh Lanuage Board, yna.

Rhy wir - Mae rai o'r marwol *yn* ryfedd.

Un peth arall - rhywbeth brwnt ynglin a Ross Noble i wneud un neu ddau o'i ferch-fach ffaniau cachu eu hotpants. Yn syml iawn - ddechrau gyda geiriau saesneg fel extremely painful entry ac only her first time too. Rhyw fath o docyn-spwriel fel made her suck on it all night neu on all fours ac efallei rhywbeth 'dark' fel blood absolutely everywhere i orffen. Fyddau nhw'n panico nawr, yn rhedeg o gwmpas fel cwningod fach yn trio feindio rhywun sydd yn ddeall y iaith.

Reit, dyna'r ddiwedd o fi. Nol at y teledu 'da fi i ddal 'Sportsnews Wales' a'r 'All New Hywel Gwynfryn Show' neu rhywbeth... Dim byd arall I wneud yn Nhymru. Gwthio eich hunan ti mewn tyllau ddefaid? S'dim pwynt os nad y'n nhw'n ffeindio chi'n riwiol...

And now tonight's weather.

It will be shattered scowers all night long until dawn, then a loverly day tomorrow.

Now on BBC1 Wales, a pointless continunity announcement for something that's being shown nationally anyway, but we want to be closer to Wales, so we do our own annoucnements & waste the licence fee even more, so here in widescreen, Eastenders!
