An amusing story which I found today in the latest edition of...

"THE WEEK - Best of British and Foreign Media"

A recent Qantas flight was nearly grounded by a confusion over names, reports the Sydney Morning Herald. Mr Gay, a Qantas employee, was taking advantage of the company's Free Flight programme when he found his seat occupied by a paying passenger.

Unfazed, Mr Gay found another seat, unaware that all Free Flighters were being asked to get off due to overbooking. A stewardess approached the seat where Mr Gay was supposed to be, and asked the occupant, "Are you Gay?"

The man shyly nodded that he was and was told to get off the plane. Mr Gay, overhearing the conversation, said: "You've got the wrong man. I'm Gay."

This caused an angry third passenger to yell: "Hell, I'm gay too! They can't throw us all off." More passengers joined in the fray, yelling that Qantas had no right to remove gays from their flights. Qantas refused to comment on the incident�

I saw all the Qantas boys in very small pants at Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Jolly nice too.

I heard the "Mr. Gay" story about a year ago. Definitely an urban legend.

I heard it last year too, but it amused me and I hoped it would amuse other people who may not have heard it before! You'd have to be grossly, personally insulting to hurt my feelings...
