Who've you seen? Posted Fri Aug 11 16:42:33 BST 2000 by Ewar Woowar

You lot strike me as the sort of people who like to make lists. Me too!

So which stand-ups have you actually seen live? I'm only interested in big names. You can put what you thought of them too, if you like. Here's mine (it's not very long, I know):

Bill Bailey (brilliant)
Ed Byrne (boring)
Rhona Cameron (good)
Bill Hicks (fantastic)
Sean Hughes (OK)
Eddie Izzard (I thought he was very good - not a fashionable opinion, I know)
Mark Lamarr (shit ;oP)
Donna McPhail (unspeakably awful)
Gerry Sadowitz (at the Reading festival, so I was a bit out of it)

Yes, it's in alphabetical order. So I'm anal. Take the piss, go on, I can take it.

Newman & Baddiel
Eddie Izzard
Dominic Holland
Stewart Lee
Donna MacPhail
Rhona Cameron
Sheila Hyde
Jeremy Hardy
Jo Brand
Sean Lock
Trevor Lock
Bill Bailey when he was in The Rubber Bishops

....I think that's it. I've not seen many. They were all Ok except Izzard, who was a genius, and Sean Lock, who was lazy.

In no particular order, just as they come to me:

Harry Enfield
Ben Elton
Bill Bailey
Lee and Herring
Bill Hicks
Frank Skinner
Harry Hill
Jack Dee
An Irish bloke supporting Bill Bailey a couple of weeks ago in Nottingham who was good, but I'm afraid I've forgotten his name.
Dave Spikey
Simon Bligh
Simon Munnery - the Urban Warrior one
Roger Monkhouse?
Steve Punt
Jo Enright? - brummie dwarf
And a few others who just sort of passed me by at comedy clubs.

What a fascinating strand. Shall I now tell you what foods I've eaten?

Bread.
Peas
crisps
bubblegum
sandwiches
pears
salad

You shouldn't eat bubblegum, you should spit it out.

Otherwise, it'll clog up your insides, and you'll die.

Which might be a good thing.

Oh don't be so self-promoting subbes. You only condone bubble gum because its texture resembles undercooked horse meat. Though I do understand that you feel the need to stand up for family members.

I saw Jeff Green about 5 years ago. He was very good as I remember.

He has the *worst* promo poster at Edinburgh this year.
It lists all his TV credits, such as NMTB, Head On Comedy and the like.

Seems a bit desperate, really.
